PUR Lifting Cable Reel Cable with galvanized steel rope support

PUR Lifting Cable Reel Cable with Galvanised Steel Rope Support — Tensile-Rated Flexible Power Cable

This PUR-sheathed lifting cable reel cable with integrated galvanised steel rope load-bearing element is engineered for applications where the reeling cable must support a vertical tensile load — such as vertically reeling cable drums on hoists, lifts, and vertical conveyor systems. The steel rope is positioned at the cable centroid, absorbing all axial load and protecting the copper power conductors from tensile fatigue.

The polyurethane (PUR) outer sheath provides outstanding mechanical toughness, oil resistance, and UV stability. Rated 0.6/1 kV; cross-sections 1.5 mm² to 35 mm²; 3 to 4 power cores; temperature range ‑40°C to +90°C.

Key Design Features

  • Integrated galvanised steel rope at cable centroid absorbing full axial tensile load
  • Extra-fine-wire Class 6 copper power conductors protected from tensile stress
  • PUR outer sheath with exceptional abrasion, oil, UV, and hydrolysis resistance
  • Balanced construction prevents rotation under load
  • Rated 0.6/1 kV; temperature ‑40°C to +90°C
  • 3 to 4 power cores; 1.5 mm² to 35 mm²
  • Optional pilot and control conductors alongside power cores
  • Steel rope breaking load matched to cable weight and system duty cycle

Selection Guide

Specifying Steel Rope Breaking Load

The steel rope must be sized to support the suspended cable weight plus a safety factor of at least 5:1. Provide us with your free-hanging cable length, cable cross-section, and system duty cycle for a correctly rated steel rope selection.

PUR vs Rubber Sheath for Lifting Applications

PUR sheath offers 3–5 times greater abrasion resistance than rubber and superior hydrolysis resistance in humid environments, making it the preferred choice for long-life lifting cable reel installations where cable replacement is difficult or costly.
