Oil-resistant festoon cables are purpose-built flexible power and control cables for crane and conveyor festoon systems in environments where oil mist, coolant spray, hydraulic fluid, or lubricant contact is routine — steel mills, machine tool halls, automotive assembly lines, and food processing plants. Available with polyethylene (PE), polyurethane (PUR), or PVC insulation and outer sheath options, each offering a different balance of oil resistance, flexibility, temperature performance, and cost.
All variants feature fine-wire or extra-fine-wire copper conductors for festoon-rated flexing cycles, rated 300/500V or 450/750V; 2 to 12 cores; 0.5 mm² to 25 mm²; flat or round construction to suit the festoon system design.
| Material | Oil Resistance | Flexibility | Temp. Range | Best Use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PVC | Good | Good | ‑15°C to +70°C | Standard indoor festoon, moderate oil |
| PE | Very good | Moderate | ‑40°C to +80°C | Chemical resistance, outdoor festoon |
| PUR | Excellent | Excellent | ‑40°C to +90°C | Heavy oil, abrasion, outdoor/indoor |
Select PVC for standard indoor festoon applications with light oil exposure and limited temperature range. Choose PE where chemical resistance and outdoor weather stability are required without the cost of PUR. Specify PUR wherever heavy continuous oil contact, severe abrasion, or wide temperature range (‑40°C to +90°C) is a requirement — PUR will deliver the longest service life in these conditions.
