Drumflex NSHTOEu-3 high-capacity drum reeling cable with reduced earth section. 0.6/1 kV, rubber PCP sheath, 30 N/mm² tensile, 240 m/min. For large crane drives and high-current reel applications.
The Drumflex NSHTOEu-3 is a high-capacity crane drum reeling cable specifically designed for large crane drive applications where the earth conductor section is reduced to accommodate larger phase conductors. The -3 suffix indicates a three-way split earth configuration — each earth section is distributed symmetrically around the power cores to maintain balanced cross-sectional geometry while maximising power conductor area.
Like all NSHTOEU-family cables, this design features PROTOLON EPR insulation, PROTOFIRM PCP inner and outer sheaths, and an anti-torsion polyester braid — rated for 30 N/mm² tensile load and 240 m/min travel speed.

The 3-way split earth allows phase conductors to be one or two cross-section steps larger within the same cable OD — directly increasing the available motor drive current without a larger drum.
Distributing earth sections evenly around the cable core maintains a balanced cross-section — important for consistent torsional behaviour and even wear on reel guide rollers.
Full 30 N/mm² tensile and 240 m/min speed rating is retained despite the optimised earth geometry — no compromise on mechanical performance for the additional electrical benefit.
