The CORDAFLEX (SMK) with reduced 3×/3 earth section is designed for gantry and container crane installations where maximum power conductor cross-section is required within the constraints of a fixed drum width and cable OD. By splitting the earth conductor into three equal sections distributed in the interstices between the phase cores, the design allows one or two cross-section steps larger phase conductors compared to equivalent full-earth cables.
All CORDAFLEX (SMK) design features are retained: PROTOLON EPR insulation, PROTOFIRM PCP double sheath, anti-torsion polyester braid, VDE registration, and GOST-R approval — with 30 N/mm² tensile load and 240 m/min travel speed.
