CORDAFLEX (SMK)-V vertical drum reeling cable with aramid support element. 0.6/1 kV, rubber PCP, 30 N/mm² + aramid tensile, 240 m/min hoist speed. Spreader frames and vertical cranes. GOST-R.
The CORDAFLEX (SMK)-V is the vertical reeling variant of the CORDAFLEX crane cable range, specifically engineered for spreader frame hoists, vertical payout drum systems, and any application where the cable must support its own weight under vertical load. A central aramid fibre support element is integrated at the cable core, providing a high-strength tensile carrier that absorbs the gravitational load — preventing conductor elongation and insulation stress during vertical operation.
All standard CORDAFLEX (SMK) mechanical performance parameters are retained: 30 N/mm² conductor-based tensile plus the aramid load capacity, 240 m/min vertical travel speed, ±50°/m torsional endurance, and PROTOFIRM PCP double-sheath construction.

In vertical payout, the cable's own weight applies sustained tensile load to the conductors. Without a support element, Class FS copper strands elongate over time — causing insulation cracking, conductor fatigue, and eventual electrical failure. The aramid element carries this load instead.
Aramid fibre provides equivalent tensile strength to steel at a fraction of the weight and with no risk of corrosion — keeping cable weight low and eliminating the rust contamination risk of embedded steel elements.
The central aramid element does not stiffen the cable — minimum bending radius and torsional endurance are identical to the standard (SMK) design, allowing use on the same drum equipment.
