Shielded Control Multicore Cable | Overall Braid Screen Control Signal Cable 300V

Shielded multicore control cable with overall tinned copper braid screen. 300V, PVC insulation, PVC or PUR sheath, 2–37 cores, 0.5–1.5mm². For industrial control panels, PLC I/O wiring, and sensor signal cables.

Shielded Multicore Control Cable — Overall Braid Screen

Shielded multicore control cables are the standard wiring solution for industrial control panels, PLC I/O racks, and machine control cabinets where multiple control signals — analogue 4–20mA, digital 24V DC, thermocouple, and sensor signals — must be routed in the same cable without mutual interference. The overall tinned copper braid screen provides a common EMI shield around all cores, preventing interference from external sources including inverter switching, relay coil spikes, and adjacent power cable radiation.

Available in 2 to 37 core configurations with 0.5, 0.75, 1.0, and 1.5mm² cross-sections, these cables cover all standard control wiring applications from small control panels to large machine tool control cabinets.

Shielded vs Unshielded Control Cable

When Shielding is Required

Any control cable running within 300mm of a VFD power cable, contactor, or relay should be shielded. The high-frequency switching noise from inverters can couple into unshielded control cables over distances of several metres, causing false triggering of digital inputs and errors on analogue measurements.

Single-Point Shield Earthing

The drain wire allows the shield to be connected to earth at the control panel end only — preventing ground loop currents that would inject noise into the very signals the shield is protecting. Never earth both ends of a shielded control cable unless using differential signalling.
